Smile Makeover FAQs

Smile Makeover Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a smile makeover cost?

The cost of a smile makeover varies depending on the extent of the work being performed. Processes like tooth whitening or veneers are less expensive than surgical interventions such as dental implants. The cost of Invisalign for straightening your teeth depends on the extent of correction needed. An initial consultation with Dr. Gardner will result in an accurate estimate of the cost of your smile makeover. We believe you will agree – the results will be priceless!

What is the difference between a smile makeover and a full mouth restoration?

A smile makeover is cosmetic in nature, addressing minor flaws such as teeth that are stained, chipped, or crooked, a gummy smile, or crooked teeth. It may also include a dental implant or bridge to replace a missing tooth for esthetic reasons.

If you need more extensive restorative work for the health of your teeth and gums, you may need a full mouth restoration. A full mouth restoration may be necessary if most or all of your teeth are missing or badly damaged.

Can I get a smile makeover at my age?

Most cosmetic dental procedures, including those for a smile makeover, can be done on any adult at any age, provided they are healthy. Teenagers can get some procedures, but this depends on their growth pattern, the condition and location of their teeth (including wisdom teeth), and their ability to take proper care of their teeth and gums after any treatments. The ADA recommends that teeth whitening not be performed on individuals younger than 14 or 15. Children generally should not get cosmetic dental procedures.

How long does a smile makeover take?

It depends on what you have done. Some procedures are completed in a single office visit, while others may require several visits to our office. Invisalign may take several months for a complete realignment of your teeth, but you will see some improvement well before that.
